The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is finally here! Do you prioritize design when choosing a new phone? I definitely do! So, today, we're going to dissect the design changes of the Galaxy Z Flip 6. We'll compare it to the previous model to see what's different, what's improved, and if there are any drawbacks.
My first impression was, 'Huh? It looks just like the Flip 5?' Of course, if you look closely, you can see some differences. It's like they've maintained the overall form factor while making subtle changes to the details. It's as if it's subtly saying, 'Hey, I'm upgraded!'
The most noticeable change is the side frame. The Flip 5 had a glossy, curved design, but the Flip 6 has a matte, angular design like the Galaxy S24 series. This gives it a much more sophisticated and clean look. Personally, I prefer the angular design, so I'm completely satisfied with this part!
Another change is the camera ring design. In the Flip 5, the camera ring color was unified in black, but in the Flip 6, the camera ring color is different depending on the color of the phone. For example, the green, blue, black, and yellow models have the corresponding color points on the camera ring, making them feel more stylish.
Will there be as many changes in the internal design as there are on the outside? The display size and aspect ratio are expected to remain the same. However, we can expect improvements in areas such as display crease reduction and hinge durability.
The cover display size is expected to be 3.4 inches, the same as the previous model. However, there are reports that the AOD (Always On Display) function has been improved, expanding the customization area. If it becomes possible to display more diverse information in addition to the clock and simple information, it would be more convenient because you wouldn't have to open the main display as often.
The biggest challenge for the Flip series is the display crease. The Flip 6 is said to have focused on minimizing the crease by improving the hinge mechanism and UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) glass film. In addition, it is expected to be upgraded with the same reinforced glass as the S24 Ultra, so it is worth looking forward to.
Looking at the overall design changes of the Galaxy Z Flip 6, it seems to be more focused on 'improvement' than 'innovation.' Although the exterior has not changed significantly, the degree of completion has been improved in detail, such as changing the side frame design, changing the color of the camera ring, and strengthening the durability of the display.
Of course, it may be disappointing for those who were expecting a larger cover display or a groundbreaking design change. However, if you think of it as a result of focusing on improving the convenience of actual use while maintaining the identity of the Flip series, it can be said that it is a reasonably satisfactory update.
So, today we looked at the design changes of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 together. What do you think? Are you satisfied with the design changes, or are there any disappointing aspects? Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
